Echo (60)

A woman in a cave

Mythology:

Echo was a water nymph who played wingwoman to Zeus, helping that cheating ass douchebag get away with his shenanigans behind Hera's back. But guess what? Hera wasn't dumb as a rock. When she caught wind of their little escapades, she stripped Echo of her voice, leaving her only able to repeat the words others said to her. Talk about a major bummer.

So, here comes the juicy part. Echo fell head over heels for this dude Narcissus (you know, the self-obsessed hunk), and she desperately wanted to confess her feelings. But damn, life had more heartbreak in store for her. Narcissus not only rejected her harshly but also made her feel like a worthless piece of shit. Poor Echo couldn't handle the pain, so she wasted away in a gloomy cave, starving herself until she became the echo we hear bouncing off cave walls. It was because of this that the goddess of retribution, Nemesis kinda sorta killed Narcissus

Fun Fact:

Now, here's a mind-blowing fact about Echo. Unlike those other asteroids, she doesn't belong to any asteroid family. It's like a metaphor, man. When we don't feel like we fit in anywhere, we tend to mimic those around us just to fit in and get some goddamn acceptance (I know, it's a stretch, but bear with me).

Delineations:

  1. Being Used by Those in Authority: Echo symbolizes being manipulated or taken advantage of by people in positions of power. It's like being their puppet on a damn string.

  2. Rejection: Echo represents the pain of rejection, unrequited love, or not being heard or understood. It's a bitter pill to swallow, my friend.

  3. Wasting Away (Girlishly): This is all about that heart-wrenching, self-destructive process of fading away, starving oneself, or withering emotionally due to unrequited love or emotional distress. It's like going through some girlishly tragic shit.

  4. Copying Others: Echo embodies the tendency to mimic or imitate others in order to gain acceptance or fit in. It's like being a damn chameleon, blending in with the crowd.

  5. Being Punished for Others' Actions: Echo symbolizes facing consequences or punishment for someone else's damn mistakes or actions. Life can be unfair, my friend.

  6. Entertaining a Higher Power: This is all about pleasing or entertaining a higher authority, be it a deity, boss, or someone in control. It's like playing the game just to make them happy
